Southbank Video Conferencing Installation

Location: Southbank, Melbourne, Victoria

The client required an easy to use video conferencing system for the meeting room at the site. With an installation at this, it is important to ensure that the audio components and video components are installed in the correct positions that provide the best quality for the user.

A 65” screen was installed on the wall, with microphones attached to the ceiling to minimise impact to the space in the room. The Logitech PTZ PRO2 conferencing system was chosen due to the quality of the camera and the ability for it to capture high definition video. With the ability to wirelessly mirror from any device to the new 65” screen from any device or system, the meeting room was completely set up for whatever needs the client has.

As with all electronic components, projectors have a set life span depending on the use and environment they are operating in. If used in a standard application, you would expect the projector to last between 3-6 years if serviced annually.
PC Audio Visual helped guide the client in the upgrade of the previous unit. Displaying how important it is to take into account the distance between the projector and screen.
A new Epson EB-G7500UNL Projector was installed with a ELPLM08 middle throw lens, which was the most appropriate choice for the site and uses for the library.

All-in-One Video Conferencing Installation

Problem: Existing projector brightness and resolution was quiet poor

As technology ages, components’ generally require some servicing and in some cases replacement. Most units would last between 3-6 years if annually serviced, allowing the user to get the most of it. As with this client in Brighton who’s existing projector brightness and resolution providing poor quality due to ageing and use.

If a replacement is needed, it is important to keep in mind the throw distance (distance between the screen and projector) and position of the lens. The replacement should match the existing units in these capacities. For this Brighton client a new Epson High Powered Projector was chosen as the suitable replacement unit and meet the requirements of the client and the space.

The client required their AV equipment hidden from view when not in use to minimise the impact of the AV equipment on the space. A motorised projector lifter was installed as well as an in-ceiling screen box to hide the equipment. To create easy and instant access to the equipment, a single button AV controller was also installed that allowed the client to reveal the equipment as well as store the equipment as needed.
